Manual Action
A manual action is a penalty given to a website when it fails to meet Google’s quality guidelines. It is usually determined by the Google team and results in website pages being demoted or even removed from search results.
A manual action can occur if there is:
- Spam
- Unnatural links
- Hidden text
- Keyword Stuffing
- Thin Content
- Cloaking
To find out if you’re the subject of a manual action, Google says ” we’ll let you know in the report of the manual action and in the Google Search Console message center .” It is therefore very important to configure the Google Search Console account of your website so as not to miss being informed of a possible manual action.
