Exact match domain - SEO Glossary

In order to be better referenced in search engines, SEOs use several methods that include in the domain name keywords representing the main theme of the website. 

The resulting domain name is the Exact Match Domain or simply EMD.

For example, hotels.com are distinguished as EMDs.

Although this practice seems to be very beneficial, Google has decreased the influence of EMDs on its rankings since 2010. Nevertheless, you should not do without it and make sure to correctly define your Exact Match Domain.
