Keyword Competition
Keyword competition is the measure of how difficult it will be to rank for a particular keyword. It’s calculated by taking into account the number of results for your keyword, the average position and the estimated traffic you can expect from that keyword.
To determine your approximate keyword competition, use SEMrush’s Keyword Difficulty tool. This tool shows you how many other keywords are competing for top spots on Google (and other search engines) based on data collected from hundreds of millions of keywords.
The higher the keyword competition, the more keywords you need to rank your page for.
The lower the keyword competition, the less competition and more room for improvement.
